Today, I choose... a new year prayer

Heavenly Father,

Holy God

Thank you for Your infinite love, and for the gift of life.

Today, I choose

To let Your Holy Spirit be my guide,

To walk by faith and not by sight.

Today, I choose

To love You with all my heart, soul and mind.

I choose to love my neighbor as I love myself.

Today, I choose

To trust You with all my heart,

To not rely on my own understanding.

I choose to acknowledge You in all my ways As You direct my path.

I will not be impressed with my own wisdom.

I choose to reverently fear you and turn my back on all evil, As You give me healing in my body and strength in my bones.

Today I choose

To be still and know that You are God.

Today I choose

To be anxious about nothing,

But to pray about everything, with thanksgiving,

And Your peace that surpasses all understanding will guard my heart and my mind.

Today I choose

To bless You at all times,

Your praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Today I choose

To humble myself under Your mighty hand, And to consider others more highly than I do myself.

Today I choose

To run with endurance the race set before me, Focusing on You, the Author and Finisher or my faith.

Today, I choose to live for You.

Thank you for the gift of today.
