Life’s journey has taken me on unexpected detours and I have been blessed to find unlikely heroes in unexpected places. Being the only civilian in our close-knit family of 5, my favorite heroes are close to my heart. Throughout the journey, our faith has been the guiding force for our family, the foundation upon which we have built our lives. We thank God for the abundant goodness and grace that surrounds us and we want our lives to reflect the Light that lives in us.
Hello friend,
“No man is a failure who has friends” is a quote from my all-time favorite movie “It’s a Wonderful Life”. I watch the movie every year at Christmas, and it never gets old. In case you’ve never seen the movie (even though I find it hard to believe there is anyone on the planet who has never seen the movie), it details the life of George Bailey, an unlikely hero who sacrificed his dreams for the sake of others, at one point contemplated ending his life, and in the end realized that no matter what challenges he faced in life there was still value to his existence. Even if you don’t believe it, the fact is the world would not be the same without you. As Clarence observed in a conversation with George: “Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?”
In the different towns that I have called home over the years, I am grateful to have made friends who I may not see everyday but who have touched my life and made me better. If you ever have a day when you think you are a failure, I hope you will think of me and our friendship and know that you are valuable and important.
Have a Merry Christmas and all the very best for the New Year! Thanks for taking time to read my blog. I appreciate your comments and look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback.
Happy reading!

Dear Friend,
Life is an amazing journey with peaks and valleys, ups and downs and I am excited to invite you to experience my reflection on that journey.
I am launching a new blog that explores my travels and incorporates faith, family, life lessons, and insights on leadership that I have gleaned along the way. My blog is called Unlikely Hero because I have found that the most unlikely candidates are everyday heroes in our world, and we can find help and hope in the most unlikely places.
I hope that you will find inspiration, insights, encouragement, food for thought, or maybe even an understanding of life from a different perspective as you read my blogs. Thanks for taking the time to read. Feel free to share the site with others. I welcome your thoughts and feedback.
Happy reading!
Charmaine
